Discover the basics of sea kayaking in the scenic Helgeland archipelago during this introductory course, guided by certified instructors from Tømmervika Opplevelsessenter. Ideal for beginners, this 3-hour session provides both practical training and essential safety knowledge.
You'll be introduced to the kayak, paddle, spray skirt, life vest, and drysuit. The training focuses on key paddling and rescue techniques, including forward and backward strokes, maneuvering, and buddy rescue. The goal is to make you comfortable in a kayak and motivate further learning.
The course is held in Tømmervika (minimum 2 participants) or by arrangement along the Helgeland coast (minimum 6 participants). After 2025, participants who complete the course can rent kayak gear directly from the center.
